It is important to notify the health office of any changes in your child’s health or changes in contact information. If your child would have an emergency it is important that we would be able to reach you.
Our goal is to keep your child healthy and safe while at school. Grant Wood follows the CRCSD Health Services guidelines for managing student illness and injuries.
-If a student has a temperature of 100 Degrees F. or higher, the parent/guardian will be called and the student will be sent home. Students should be fever-free without fever reducing medication before returning to school.
General appearance and functioning of the student are important factors in determining if a child should go home when not feeling well. After a period of observation a decision will be made to do one of the following:
-Resting in the clinic for a period of time
-Significant Injuries/head bumps/significant scrapes will be reported to parents upon occurrence as well.
*Prescription Medications for students can be administered by our Nurse and Health Secretary with a Health Form completed by parent/guardian. Over the counter medications can be administered accompanied by a Dr’s order. Please contact the Grant Wood health office for further details.
